This was our second trip to the Toledo Zoo and it was so much better. Yesterday wasn't hot at all. 73F, few clouds and a cool breeze: perfect day for an outing. All the animals were out of their enclosures and were enjoying the day as much as we were. Also, being familiar with the layout of the zoo from the last trip helped. Did not waste any time searching for exhibits.
Ashwini got to see all the animals that she is familiar with and can recognize in pictures. She was very happy to see the elephants, rhinoceroses, penguins, tigers, bears, cheetah (she calls it ‘tachee’), monkeys, turtles (aka ‘tutus’) and snakes. Missed out on giraffes as we decided to skip one section of the zoo. Ashwini also got to touch some ducks that were roaming around in the zoo and then sheep, goats and pigs in the petting zoo. That was the funniest part of the trip. She was just running from animal to animal, couldn’t decide which one she liked more to pet. It was a great fun day. Now that we have a membership to the zoo, we will make another trip soon.

It was time to rest in the cool shade and eat a snack of crackers and blueberries before heading to the petting zoo.

After being so busy at the zoo, Ashwini was so tired that she could hardly keep her eyes open while going to the parking lot and had a nice hour long nap on the way home.
