From Mt. Monadnock
All Summer long, I was planning with my friend to go for a day-hike in New Hampshire. It finally happened after official end of Summer. But, the time was appropriate to hike up Mt. Monadnock (3165 ft.) as fall colors are starting to show up and the cool weather kept us from getting exhausted. Also, my brother was able to come along.

It is not a very difficult hike: altitude gain of about 2000 ft. over 2.5 miles. But, we missed the trail markings as we were busy chatting and got lost. We had to climb up some big rock patches and that just made the whole trip very interesting. As we reached the summit, it got colder and a fierce wind pushed wind chill well below freezing. We sat around behind a big rock shielding us from the wind to eat a snack before heading back down.

After successfully conquering an easy summit, we decided on planning more hikes next Spring/Summer. Lets see how it works out.
