September 25: “flare”
In May, we witnessed a Supernova flare up in the Pinwheel galaxy (M101). Can’t believe that I could capture this event from my front yard that is 21 million light years away. Top image shows location with red lines; bottom image from 3 weeks prior for comparison.
September 17: “intense”
Lagoon nebula (M8) is illuminated by a star that shines intensely with 23,000 times the brightness of our Sun in visible light and it radiates 44 times more energy in UV range than visible light.
